Ubuntu is working on a killer android. Part One

The developers of Ubuntu have set about creating a platform for today's smartphones, which will compete with Google Android. The release of new products scheduled for the fourth quarter of next year.

British company canonical, has developed the operating system Ubuntu, which is based on the kernel Linux, started creating a special version of the OS is designed for use in smartphones, told the media, Richard Collins, who heads the division of product strategy canonical.

He noted that the company plans to finalize the draft in 2013, after which demonstrate its own operating system manufacturers of mobile devices and expand the negotiating process with respect to its supply in the form of pre-installed. Currently, there are several versions of Ubuntu for servers, desktops and televisions. According to Canonical, the number of users running Ubuntu in a desktop version of the more than twenty million people.
